Some Background

I’ve done a range of work across the photographic and cultural/creative industries over the past thirty years, over and above being an image-maker in my own right; this has included lecturing, the project management and production of large-scale photographic events (awards, festivals, symposia), workshops and participatory projects in communities and schools. I’ve also been involved in the founding, running and board-level oversight of a number of non-profit photography organisations.

The images on the homepage of this site represent just some of my personal work; other photographic work and interests include the landscape. I do still undertake commissioned photography and participatory or community projects where I fit the project and vice-versa.

If you’re interested in finding out more about me and my work for a project you have in mind, please do get in touchvia email in the first instance, thank you.

Outside of photography, I’m a qualified outdoor instructor (Mountain Leader & NNAS Tutor), leading groups on hill-walks, teaching navigation and supervising/assessing Duke of Edinburgh Award expedition programmes (I hold both EAAS & ESTC).

I may write more, at some point, but in the meantime you can always have a look at my Linked-in profile, one of my Instagram feeds (photography and hill-walking) or even harass find me on Twitter/X!
